What is Astro File Manager?

Astro File Manager gives you complete control over your files in one app. You can search, share and manage all your pictures, music files, videos or docs. Explore all your files at your fingertips- whether on SD Card, internal memory, cloud storage services like Dropbox, Google Drive, Facebook, Box, Microsoft OneDrive, or local networks - PC, Mac, and Linux.

 
1What are the file type options for in the home menu?
File types for Pictures, Music, Videos, Documents and Downloads are default searches that search all areas of the device, including cloud locations when signed in.
2How to organize files in Astro File Manager?
  • Press & hold a file and it will be highlighted.
  • A Copy/move icon will appear once a file is highlighted.
  • Tap on Copy/move option.
  • Navigate where you want to move the file and tap on Paste.
3How to delete a file?
  • Press & hold a file and it will be highlighted.
  • A Trash Can icon will appear once a file is highlighted.
  • Tap on the icon to delete a file.
  • It will ask you “Are you sure you want to delete this file?” Tap on Delete.
4How to set a custom startup location?
  • Navigate to the settings in Astro file Manager.
  • Tap on Startup Options.
  • Tap on Edit.
  • Select any File or location and select OK.
  • Select Save.
5How to I see the files on my device?
  • Navigate to the home screen.
  • Tap on internal shared storage option in storage locations.
  • Navigate through the internal shared storage.
6How do I see the files in my cloud services?
  • Navigate to the home screen.
  • Tap on any of the cloud locations that have been signed into.
  • Navigate through the cloud storage.
7How to Create a New Folder?
  • Navigate to the location in Astro file Manager where you wish to create a folder.
  • Tap on the menu on the top right hand side of the screen.
  • Tap on New Folder.
8How to Change View Settings?
  • Tap on the menu on the top right hand side of the screen.
  • Tap on View Settings.
9How to set a favorite location?
  • Navigate to the location you wish to set as a favorite.
  • Tap on the menu on the top right hand side of the screen.
  • Tap on Add favorite.
10How to access my favorites in ASTRO File Manager?
  • Advance to the home menu and scroll down to the favorites.
11What is App Manager?
App Manager helps to manage other apps installed on your device. It gives you the option to sort apps in the following way:
  • Sort by Name
  • Sort by Size
  • Sort by last used date

You can free up the disk space from Apps you never use or consider uninstalling the Apps which uses a lot of space.
12How to use a USB drive with Astro File Manager ?
Currently, the USB and other OTG drive support works for all Samsung devices. The feature is less likely to work on other devices. We plan to extend the support to other popular devices in future.
13How to create a label on SD card so I can transfer files?
The simple fix is to remove the SD card from the phone , connect it to a regular desktop or laptop with a USB adaptor and rename the card. Renaming the card gives it the needed "label" and will now work again in your Astro program.
